Description

A large and rare Sèvres two-handled cup and stand (tasse a l'Etrusque et soucoupe), c.1793, in the Etruscan style, finely painted with fruit on a marble plinth within wide borders of pink rose sprigs and garlands on decorative gilt grounds reserving small panels of heartsease and cornflower, within narrow claret bands, blue interlaced Ls marks and painter's mark for Jacques-François-Louis de Laroche, gilders marks for Henri-Martin Prevost l'aine, 17.5cm.
