A CHINESE FAMILLE VERTE 'PHEASANT AND PEONY' DISH

From an English private collection, acquired in the first half of the 20th century and thence by descent.
Brightly enamelled with a pheasant standing upon a rock amongst a flowering magnolia tree and peonies, encircled by four panels of further flowering branches, the reverse decorated with an interlocking lotus scroll, and an artemisia mark to the base.
