TWO JAPANESE SATSUMA VESSELS BY KOZAN
MEIJI ERA (1868-1912)
13.5cm max. (2)
Both raised on three feet; richly embellished with panels enclosing boys at play and with sages, on a complex ground of brocade patterns, stylised flowers, scrolling tendrils and other formal designs.
The base of the vase bears an inscription reading Kozan zo and has two further impressed marks. The miniature incense burner also bears the two characters for Kozan underneath.
