Catalogue notes
The monogram of AM interlaced with C probably Alfred Morrison and Mabel Chermside, whom he married in 1866. The critic Mrs Hawels in Beautiful Houses, writing about 16 Carlton House Terrace, described Mrs Morrison's private quarters having 'an enormous cabinet, filled with a pretentious service of Minton's ware - occupies one wall of the room.'
