Catalogue Notes
In the 1930's Robert Thompson had strong connections with Ampleforth Abbey and College as he was making furniture for many of the college houses. Items such as these bookends were often made as a gift for one of the benefactors, who paid for some of the work at the Abbey and College.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Ian Thompson Cartwright for the information provided.
