A silver two-handled porringer,
unmarked, inscribed to the underside 'Made by Isabel Hope'
circular form with spot-hammered decoration, scroll handles with foliate decoration, inscribed ' Peronelle Edith Alice Dvmaresq, From her Godmother Isabel Hope', length handle to handle 22.5cm.

Provenance: A Private Collection.

Peronelle Dumaresq (1913-1959) was the daughter of Rear Admiral John Saumarez Dumaresq, who in 1919 was the commodore of the Australian fleet and was later promoted to Rear Admiral in 1921. He died of pneumonia during a voyage from Australia to England in 1922.
