Sam Chatto studied Art History at Edinburgh University and trained as a potter at the Northshore Pottery. In 2023 he apprenticed with the renowned Japanese master Yagi Akira. He has participated in several exhibitions at the Redfern Gallery, London, and Hauser & Wirth (Make) in Somerset.
He has also shown at Ceramics Brussels Art Fair and with RAM Galleri in Oslo. In April 2025 he had his first solo exhibition at Sokyo Gallery in Kyoto.
