We are two sisters making ceramics together. Olivia taught herself pottery at the same time as Emily was trying to mouth-paint.

Emily paints with her mouth because she has a C3/4 incomplete SCI due to her spinal cord becoming inflamed for no known reason, leaving her paralysed from the chest down in 2011.

Emily didn’t enjoy painting on paper the summer she was learning to mouth paint. The paints medium didn’t work well with her, and she struggled to fill a page. Her sister Olivia then suggested she try’s painting her pots instead.
