H.M.S. Foudroyant, an 80-gun Third Rate ship of the line, is notable for, among other things, having been the Flagship of Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson for part of the period following the Battle of the Nile when he remained in the Mediterranean to support the interests of the Neapolitan Royal Family and to pursue his affair with Emma Hamilton.
