Description
A continental silver-gilt standing cup,
apparently unmarked, except for a possible small control mark to the foot, 19th century and possibly earlier,
the slight tapering circular form, embossed with animals and a unicorn in landscape settings within foliate scroll decoration, on a matted background, on a knopped stem with scroll supports on a raised circular foot, inscribed 'Henry Arthur Cholmondeley from his Godfather Watkin Williams Wynn 1851', in a fitted case, height 26.1cm, approx. weight 13.5oz.
