A late-19th century gilt metal, enamel and electroplated singing bird box,
unmarked, probably Swiss, circa 1880,
rectangular form, the panels with chased foliate decoration on a matted background, the oval hinged cover enamelled with a lake scene, the interior of the cover enamelled with fruit and flowers, the feathered bird in a standing position, the cover does not close, and the musical mechanism is not working, with a key, in a fitted case, with a note from Bracher and Partner, musical box specialists, length 10.9cm.
