A pair of Victorian silver entrée dish bases with associated covers,
by John Samuel Hunt, London 1845, the covers 1844, the undersides stamped 'Hunt & Roskell, Late Storr Mortimer and Hunt',
circular form, gadroon and foliate borders, the domed pull-off covers with foliate handles, engraved with an armorial, diameter 28.5cm, approx. weight 125oz. (2)
The armorial is that of Loyd of Overstone Park impaling Irby: Lewis Loyd (b. 1811) married Frances Harriet Irby (b. 1817) in 1845.
