Description
The Duke of Wellington, a large gold-mounted banded agate desk seal,
unmarked,
tapering faceted oval form, with two foliate scroll bands, the matrix engraved with the arms of Arthur Wellesley, the terminal engraved with his crest and the initials 'A.W', in a later fitted box, height 11cm, together with a jasperware portrait of Wellington in a back frame, a medallion celebrating the opening of Waterloo bridge, and two wax impressions of the seal.
