A JAPANESE IMARI DISH WITH CHRYSANTHEMUM
EDO PERIOD, C.1700
Typically decorated in underglaze blue, gilt, and red enamels, the well with a central chrysanthemum mon, with further chrysanthemum and prunus blossoms around it; the reverse with more flowers and a circular band of peony and scrolling tendrils to the base, 31.7cm.
