TWO JAPANESE ARITA BOWLS BY THE GEN'EMON KILN
HEISEI, 20TH/21ST CENTURY

Both raised on a short foot and with a flared rim, each decorated with a large auspicious character framed by bands of yin-yang designs, lucky emblems and large red roundels, both with maple leaves and cherry blossoms to the reverse; both signed Gen'emon in underglaze blue; each with a tomobako (wood box), one inscribed Nishiki aka-tama moyō kashi-zara (polychrome red ball pattern plate for confectionery), Gen'emon zō (made by Gen'emon) with a red seal for Gen'emon; the other associated box with an inscription about the Imaemon kiln; 18.9cm and 19.2cm.
