THREE JAPANESE COPPER ALLOY DISHES
SHŌWA PERIOD, 20TH CENTURY

The first with a crumpled-looking rim and a hammered surface, raised on three swirly feet, with a seal underneath for Takahashi Shigehiro (b.1941), in a tomobako (wood box) inscribed Namigata Suiban (wave-patterned water basin), dated the spring of Shōwa 10 (1935), signed Eiyō Takahashi Shigehiro and sealed Shigehiro; another deep dish with a red mottled patina, marked Take underneath for Nakano Takeji, its tomobako inscribed Heikou Watakushi-bachi Sōgata Chūdōki (a large flat, cast copper vessel) and signed Jinko Dentō Kōgei Gijutsu Hojisha (Holder of Jinko traditional techniques), Seisaku Nanako Takeji kin (respectfully produced by Nanako Takeji), and sealed; the third dish with a mottled green surface, with the remnants of a tomobako inscribed Nanban Sahari chabon, 35.5cm max.
