TWO JAPANESE SILVER PIECES BY KEISUKE
SHŌWA/HEISEI, 20TH CENTURY
The first a parcel-gilt kōrō, the incense burner of ovoid form and raised on a short foot, with geometric decoration, a band of apertures, and an inner liner, signed Kei underneath; in a tomobako (wood box) inscribed Nanryō nunome senmon kōrō (silver, cloth weave and linear pattern incense burner) and signed Keisuke saku (made by Keisuke) and sealed Keisuke; the other a cup raised on a pierced foot, in a tomobako inscribed Gin Takatsuki (silver high-footed cup) and signed Kato Keisuke with seal Keisuke; together with a white metal okimono of chrysanthemum, 24cm max.
