A JAPANESE IRON AIZU SHOAMI TSUBA
EDO PERIOD, 18TH CENTURY

Of circular shape, one side decorated with the lone figure of a traveller with a long coat and a wide-brimmed hat, by rocky outcrops and underneath branches of weeping willow; the reverse with small pines visible in the distance, unsigned, with a copy of a Hozon Tosogu (Sword fitting Worthy of Preservation) certificate no.4014656 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (The Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword), dated 22nd February 2019; in a kiri box, 7.5cm.
