TWO JAPANESE IRON TSUBA
EDO/MEIJI, 19TH CENTURY

Both of oval form and decorated with geese in flight and crabs below, the animals inlaid in brass and copper takazogan on the hammered ground; one with box, 8.8cm and 7.6cm. (3)

Provenance: from an English private collection, Devon. The largest tsuba purchased from Bonhams London, Fine Japanese Works of Art from the Edward Wrangham Collection, 18 June-9 July 2018, lot 14 (part).
