A JAPANESE RED LACQUER TRAY BY HARA WATARU (B.1948)
SHŌWA/HEISEI, 20TH CENTURY
Of rectangular shape, one side with a craggy edge, raised on four short circular feet; the top in red cinnabar lacquer and the reverse a deep lustrous black; in a tomobako (wood box) inscribed Urushi-nuri kakuzara (lacquer-coated square dish), signed Hara Wataru and sealed; 40cm x 36.8cm. (2)
