MEIJI ERA, 19TH CENTURY
Comprising three sets of three volumes each, entitled Shōgetsudō Kohō Hyakubin (One Hundred floral arrangements in the traditional ways of the Shōgetsudō School of Ikebana); another set Ryuha Hiden: Seika Shoho Dokushu (Secret Traditions of the School: A Self-Study Guide to the Fundamentals of Seika Ikebana), and the third simply Shōgetsudō Hyakubin (One Hundred floral arrangements of the Shōgetsudō School of Ikebana), 26cm x 18.1cm max. Provenance: from the Estate of a Collector, Heath House, Hampshire, and thence by descent. By repute, acquired in Asia at the turn of the 19th century.
