Description

A Japanese sword (tachi), koto blade 24.75 in., hon-zukuri with hi to each side, midare hamon, ko-suriage nakago with two ana, mei to the omote and the ura (indistinct but possibly Bishu Osafune YukiKage and with a possible date of 1436), 19th century ceremonial tachi koshirae with silvered kara or fundo-gata-tsuba having double arched tsuzuragane, tsuka bound in engraved copper bands with exposed same grip and fine menuki in the form of writhing dragons, copper mounted brass saya engraved with cranes in flight amid clouds and with obitori of braided copper wire bearing the kamon of the Minamoto clan.
