Description
An 18th-century Scottish basket-hilted sword, double-edged blade 32.5 in. of flattened hexagonal-section, iron guard formed of round-section bars, the shields pierced with radial arrangements of hearts around central quatrefoils bordered above and below by shallow channels, knuckle and side guard plates also pierced with hearts, fluted conical pommel, cord and leather-bound grip.
