Description
A small collection of edged weapons, comprising: a Scottish highland dress dirk, blade 13 in., each side with broad central fuller, narrow back fullers and a scalloped back edge, bog oak hilt with basket weave carving, fragmentary pommel; a Moro knife (barong), heavy leaf-shaped blade 16 in., polished wood hilt with long silver collar and elaborate flaring terminal; an Afghan fighting pick (lohar), right-angled blade on a turned metal stem with an elaborate white metal grip; a Victorian hunting knife by Joseph Rogers & Sons, heavy blade 9 in., German silver cross piece, stag horn grip (pommel missing), German silver mounted black leather scabbard, black leather frog; a Victorian knife in the style of a kard, by William Oates of Sheffield, hardstone grip; and a small jambiya, embossed brass scabbard.
