Description

A scarce 120 bore Webley patent 'Longspur' six-shot percussion revolver, first model, serial number 222, octagonal barrel 3.75 in., engraved at the muzzle and with the top-flat inscribed for the retailer 'EDWIN LADMORE HEREFORD.', lug on the right to receive the rammer (not present), cylinder with six numbered chambers and an engraved band to the leading edge, hinged frame with border and scroll engraving and inscribed to the left 'JAMES WEBLEY PATENTEE', arbor with square-section centre, pin-stop engaging with the nipple bays, long spoon-shaped hammer spur, chequered wooden grip, steel butt cap with scroll engraved trap, Birmingham proof; in a fitted mahogany case with associated accessories comprising: bullet mould, cap tin, oil bottle, loading and cleaning rod with interchangeable heads over a concealed worm, powder flask, turnscrew and nipple key. Section 58(2) - no licence required if possessed as a curiosity or ornament.
