λ AN EARLY VICTORIAN GILT AND PATINATED BRONZE CARRIAGE TIMEPIECE

ATTRIBUTED TO PAYNE & CO, C.1850

the brass eight day timepiece movement with an English platform lever escapement visible from the top of the case with a 'slow / fast' lever, the back with shuttered winding and set holes, the silvered dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands, the front of the case is finely engraved with foliate scrolls, together with its original rosewood travelling case, with a later winding key and case key
