MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS INTEREST. A NEEDLEWORK FRAGMENT
POSSIBLY 16TH CENTURY
worked with mythical beasts and stylised trees within decorative borders and in a later glazed silver frame, hallmarked Birmingham, the reverse with a handwritten postcard inscribed 'This is part of the border of a Bedspread worked by Queen Mary of Scotland and given to my husband Cyril Brett by the owner of the Bedspread'
