A CHINESE BAMBOO CALLIGRAPHIC BRUSHPOT, BITONG
QING DYNASTY
The cylindrical body inscribed with a two-phrase poem about ink calligraphy and with the cyclical date for the summer of the xinchou year, with a signature reading Mo Yuan, 14.8cm.
Provenance: from the collection of Dr John William Hawksley Grice OBE (1891–1976) and thence by descent.
