A rare late 15th/early 16th century maidenhead spoon with a fig-shaped bowl, a rudimentary 'V' rattail with scratched initials 'IT' just above, engraved fleur de lys crest on the back of the lap joint, maker's mark only 'NB' [monogram] in a circular punch, struck once in the bowl, unascribed, provincial 1490-1530, 6.3in (16cm) long, 1.3oz.
