Description
A Charles I communion cup, plain, on a spreading circular foot with a tapering bowl, together with matching paten, maker's mark 'RP', mullet below*, London 1640, the cup 6in (15.4cm) high, the paten 4.6in (11.6cm) diameter, 11oz. *See Jackson's Revised pp. 119, for this mark as noted on a communion cup, London 1640. NB - The paten only fits the cup as a cover with it's 'foot' downwards.
