'Garden Gate' a Carlton Ware vase, pattern no.3863 designed by Violet Elmer circa 1934, a Spring pattern jug, a Rock Garden Aztec shape dish and a Curled Lettuce Salad ware sauce boat and stand printed script mark 11cm. high
Another inspiration for Clive's collection was an Aztec shape green ground Rock Garden dish and a Curled Lettuce tray discovered in the proverbial 'dusty attic' of his family home in Swansea in the early 1970's. Clive clearly recollected these pieces from his childhood and they still evoked the same frisson of fun and enjoyment. The pieces had been a wedding present to his parents.
