A small walnut desk, with crossbanding and stringing, the hinged top with a velvet inset centre having a further hinged top on a ratchet revealing two compartments, one for inkwells and a lidded door to a well, with a central arcaded frieze flanking a pair of cupboard doors, the left one enclosing five drawers, the right one enclosing shelves, both flanking three drawers in the centre and framing knuckle hinged turned baluster and tapering supports for the top, on turned feet, parts 18th century with re-veneering, 29.25in (74cm) h, 36in (91cm) w, 12.5in (32cm) d closed.
