Description

A 19th century Anglo-Indian tea caddy, Vizagapatam, sandalwood with pierced and lac decorated ivory mounts, the hinged domed cover and sides with oval panels of figures, a cat and a monkey, the interior with a similar panel depicting a building and inscribed 'In Memory of the christening at Kylassa 28th Oct 1879,' to a pair of lids with horn grounds and turned ivory handles and lead lined, 6in (15cm) h, 10in (25.5cm) w, 5.5in (14cm) d.
