Description
An early 18th century French, stained ivory gaming box, with gilt metal stand-away hinges, the cover with a dial, decanted with etched and engraved borderwork and figures, the cover interior with a stylized goose on a pond with flowers, and containing twenty eight coloured markers, the box signed "Mariaual Le Jeune a Paris Fecit", c.1740 (A/F), 3.1in (8cm) long.
