Belarussian & Hebrew: a late 19th/early 20th century Russian cheroot case of plain oblong form with a gilt interior, the cover engraved with the Star of David and the Hebrew inscription: 'A tribute in memory of our honoured Rabbi, President (Chief Justice) of the Rabbinical Court here Rabbi Shemuel Yakov Rabinovitz (May he merit a good and long life), presented with sentiment of love and respect, by the community of Yeshunun in the city of Sapotzkin, on the eve of the Festival of the First Fruits, 1902' by an unascribed maker, with state marks for 1896-1908, 5.1in (13cm) long, 5.5oz.
