A late Victorian satinwood and marquetry Carlton House desk, with gilt brass gallery, kingwood banding and stringing, the raised top with drawers and cupboard doors, letter slots, and shaped hinged covers revealing a pen tray and stationery compartments, flanking a pull-out slide with replaced gilt tooled leather, above two frieze drawers all fitted circular brass plate ring handles on square tapering legs to spade feet, 42in (106.5cm) h, 48.25in (122.5cm) w, 24in (61cm) d.
