A Victorian table example, in the form of an oblong casket with reeded borders, shaped thumbpieces and a domed cover hinged in two unequal sections; one with a small compartment and the other revealing the blued steel grater, the base with a large hinged cover, by Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham 1848, 3.8in (9.6cm).
