A late 19th/early 20th century Japanese rose bowl, of squat circular form on a plain collet foot, the bowl with bamboo stems and foliage in relief on a hammered ground, character mark only, c.1900, on a carved hardwood base, with five scroll legs, 11in (28cm) diameter, 49oz.
