An extremely rare James I sweetmeat tazza, on an openwork spool foot, the bowl decorated with pierced formal scroll cartouches, with raised central bosses, within a border of repeating openwork arches, the central boss domed and pierced flanking a shield, pricked "H" over "HC" with two mullets in between, the whole with chased linear borderwork, maker's mark "CB" [in monogram] *, London 1619, 6.3in (16.2cm) diameter, 2in (5.1cm) high, 5.5oz.
