An early London delftware dry drug or pill jar c.1680, painted with a bold blue cartouche above a fleur de lys and stylized garlands, inscribed 'P:ALEOPHAN', 9.5cm high.

Pilulae alephanginae were scented pills made from aloes, cinnamon, nutmeg, rose petals and other ingredients used in the treatment of epilepsy, migraine and melancholy.
