A Chinese porcelain armorial circular dish Qianlong c.1795, decorated with the arms of Francis, Earl Annesley, the rim with a gilt and blue vine garland, the crest supported by a Roman Knight and a Moorish Prince above the motto Virtutis Amore, some damages to the rim, 25cm.

Francis Annesley, the 1st Earl of Annesley and 2nd Viscount Glenawly was born in 1740 and created an earl in 1789. He died in 1802. Cf. David Sanctuary Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, Vol. I, F11, p.280.
