Recently removed from Gavelacre House, Longparish

This is the first Thoresby Hall before it was destroyed by fire in 1746, the same year that the Duke fought at Culloden. A second house, completed in 1772 was demolished in 1864 and the current Gothic Victorian house was built. The contents were sold by Sotheby's, 31st May, 1st and 2nd June 1989
