λ A Chinese export black lacquer sewing table, all over decorated in gilt with panels of figures in various pursuits, with pagodas and tress in a watery landscape, with scaley dragon borders, the hinged lid revealing a fitted interior with a lift-out divided tray with a silk pin cushion and various carved ivory utensils and implements including: reel holders, needle cases, clamps a pair of pots and covers, flanked by a pair of lidded compartments fitted with further sewing utensils, originally with a bag, on turned supports united by a stretcher and on dragon's head feet, first half 19th century, 63.5cm wide, 42.4cm deep.
