PORTRAIT OF THE JESUIT PRIEST CHANG CHENG

A Chinese painting, oil on canvas, signed Yin, dated 2005, inscribed tian zhu sheng jiao shi chang cheng, Chinese Catholic Jesuit priest Chang Cheng, framed, 98.5cm x 79cm.

Chang Cheng was a priest, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Shanghai 's Aurora University. The Chinese artist Yin Xin learned to paint by copying political posters at the time of the Cultural Revolution. He went to study at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia, and later settled in Paris, reinterpreting works by the Old Masters.
