A Derby botanical dessert dish c.1815

£100 - £200 £220

A Derby botanical dessert dish c.1815, boldly painted with a specimen of Jacobean Amaryllis, with a simple gilt line to the scalloped rim, titled in red to the reverse, iron red crowned crossed batons and D mark, 30.5cm.

The decoration on this plate appears to directly derive from William Curtis's Botanical Magazine, plate 47.
