A George III parcelgilt snuff box, of rounded oblong form with, all-over reeding, the cover inset with a gilt plaque decorated in low relief with a 17th century tavern scene (possibly after Tenniers), the interior gilt and inscribed "Hercules Ellis To his friend Peter Murphy 1852 1855 INDEPENDENCE", by John Linnit, London 1815, 3.6in (9.2cm) long, 3.75oz.
