A cloth map of Sussex annotated by Siegfried Sassoon when he was with the Southdown Hunt, Sassoon has marked in red ink several of the Southdown and Eridge meets as well as some of the runs. The materialised cover has the stamp of Thurston Hopkins, a well known Sussex author, who presumably owned the map before Sassoon. Provenance: Thurston Hopkins, Siegfried Sassoon and thence by family descent. Acquired by the present owner in 1991.
