A CHINESE AMBER GLAZED EWER, A STAND AND A HARE'S FUR BOWL

LIAO DYNASTY AND LATER

The ewer with a long conical spout and a tall slender neck rising from a bulbous body, the stand formed as a shallow bowl supported on five small figures of earth spirits, the deep bowl with five brown irregular russet splash markings to the interior, 18cm max. (3)

Provenance: from the collection of Francis Golding (1944-2013), the bowl purchased from Michael Willcox on 22nd March 2002, the stand on 27th September 2006, copies of the original invoices are available.
