A CHINESE CIRCULAR JADE-MOUNTED HAND MIRROR
QING DYNASTY
The handle formed from a pale celadon jade belthook with a dragon's head terminal, flanked by two bats, the mirror backed by a pale celadon reticulated plaque with a central articulated shou character, encircled by coloured stones set into silver-coloured metal decorated in relief with incense burners and vases, 18.8cm overall.
Provenance: the Benveniste collection, Montreal. Purchased in the 1960s and '70s.
