A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE CONG-SHAPED VASE REPUBLIC PERIOD Painted with pheasants, chickens, a peacock and a hwamei bird, perched on rocks and in tree branches amongst peonies, roses, magnolias, hibiscus and prunus, a four character Shen De Tang zhi to the base, 26cm. Shen De Tang, the Hall of Prudent Virtue, completed in 1831, was Emperor Daoguang's main residence at the Imperial Palace. Porcelain ware produced for this palace bear the Shen De Tang Zhi mark.
